Eligibility of the Coolidge Scholarship
This scholarship is for current high school juniors who plan to enroll full-time in an authorized U.S. college or institution in the autumn. Seniors from high school may not be eligible to apply.
Applicants must be United States citizens or legal permanent residents.
This prize is not open to family members of the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation or the Coolidge Scholars Program.
The award recognizes students who value and embody Coolidge’s basic beliefs. Though it is not limited to those wishing to study government or public policy, applicants should value qualities such as respect and ambition.

Requirements for the Coolidge Scholarship
- U.S. resident and junior high school student
- Seeking a bachelor’s degree full-time
- To attend school in the United States, you must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
How to Apply
- When the site reopens in the autumn, submit your application online.
- Request that your official transcripts be delivered directly to the Coolidge Foundation.
- Send two letters of recommendation.
- If you are chosen as a finalist, you must come to Vermont (expenses covered) to attend an interview weekend.

To be eligible, students must plan to attend a college or institution in the United States and be interested in public policy. However, students may pursue any academic subject of study; a public policy major is not necessary.
Calvin Coolidge Foundation
The Coolidge Foundation is the official organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the values of America’s 30th president. The Foundation was established in 1960 by John Coolidge, the president’s son, and a group of fellow Coolidge supporters. The Foundation is situated in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, where the president was born. It aims to significantly improve Americans’ awareness of President Coolidge and the values he advocated.
