Equitable Excellence Scholarship: The Pathway to Educational Opportunity
The Equitable Excellence Scholarship is the flagship program of the Equitable Foundation, the company’s charitable arm. The improved scholarship program includes renewable scholarships as well as engagement to help ambitious college students find possibilities.
The Equitable Excellence Scholarship is an Equitable program that provides scholarships to high school students to help them pursue a college degree. It comprises renewable $5,000 scholarships for four years, totaling $20,000 per recipient, as well as one-time $2,500 grants to pay immediate educational expenses.
Aside from the money prize, the program provides development opportunities such as mentoring, professional skill-building workshops, and financial wellness seminars.

Eligibility of the Equitable Excellence Scholarship
We are committed to kids who have potential. Those who have the confidence to pursue what is possible, demonstrate strength in dealing with adversities, and share their wisdom with others. The Equitable Excellence Scholarship® is our promise to those who are committed to pursuing their aspirations.
Be a current high school senior who lives in one of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico and intends to enroll full-time in an authorized two- or four-year college or university in the United States for the following academic year.
Show passion and self-motivation to be a positive factor in their communities by inspiring others to pursue higher education.
Be willing to sign a release allowing them to promote their identities and details about their plans or accomplishments, as well as images for use in program promotion/information.
Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
Requirements for the Equitable Excellence Scholarship
As part of your application, you must upload the following.
A current and complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not acceptable. Transcripts must show:
- Student’s name
- School’s name
- Grades
- Credit hours for each course and the term in which they were taken.
A copy of the first two pages of the most current IRS Form 1040 utilized in the Financial Information portion of the application. Please remove all social security numbers and bank account information.
Your application is incomplete unless all needed materials are provided electronically.

Scholarship Reward
This year’s scholarship recipients will receive a $5,000 renewable scholarship for all four years of undergraduate studies, totaling $20,000 in financial aid. Scholarship recipients will also get exclusive access to workshops focused on financial well-being, mental wellness, and important professional leadership and development sessions designed to help with resume building and personal branding.
Each year, the scholarship program aims to reach out to kids in need, and over 60% of this year’s beneficiaries are first-generation college students. Scholarship awardees come from 24 states and represent 63 different high schools.
Equitable has provided 7,400 students with $30 million in scholarships since the program’s start. Equitable Foundation conducts the awards program in collaboration with Scholarship America, a national nonprofit dedicated to administering scholarship opportunities.
